by fullyautomaticespresso on May 20, 2010

When a friend told me he had a new coffee maker I assumed there would be a new brand of coffee and tea sitting on the kitchen counter. But this was not true at all. My friend had introduced a new "barista" espresso with new recipes made a great noise of the local crowd. My knowledge of this profession has failed, but I was very impressed by the skills, knowledge of beans and roasts, and the skillful manipulation of a wide variety of coffee recipes complex and subtle drink. In fact, the art of coffee making requires a set of skills, product knowledge and months of practice, and that was something that was very impressive. The very word "barista" is actually Italian waiter, but in the English language has come to mean a person who prepares coffee drinks espresso, although in North America in general, the term has been used for any employed person in a cafe situation. I like the comparison with the wine expert word is "Sommelier" as barista "must be highly qualified in all aspects of coffee, roasting, blending and the use of espresso equipment. God knows how many different kinds of coffee are in the world or even more important, the number of different blends! A coffee machine can be a finely trained athlete "when it comes to mix exotic drinks coffee and there are competitions around the world in which a barista can show their skills, but it takes instinct, training and much practice to be taken account for that year. The world of Olympic coffee. Monte Carlo has been the scene of the inauguration of the IIHF World Barista and was in 2000 and has quickly made its way. Almost ten years later, the world championships are held in a different country each year and to welcome the winners of several national titles. The judges made the drink and the person who made it. The score includes not only the taste, but the presentation and speed, preparation is against the clock with only fifteen minutes to be allowed to each Barista performance. Each participant must use the espresso machine forever but many exotic ingredients make a whole bag. Syrups, asparagus, fruits, ground spices, and even his own blend of roasted coffee. In fact, they have to prepare four signature drinks, cappuccinos and espressos four different four, while four judges of the sample, taste and smell: all foam with art and graphics, complete the presentation. Fifteen minutes can mean a lot! The winners have drinks coffee with sugar, pepper gel, lavender, white pepper, sage leaves infused, honey and chocolate squares black. The world champion from Canada 2004 named Sammy Piccolo, use raw sugar, egg yolks, curry powder, dark chocolate and roasted with a special blend of coffee and called his winning design "Insieme". These competitions require dedication and hard training, like any athlete to work towards a world championship and puts a new perspective on the phrase "tea", so when you think of your next cup of espresso, consider new recipes and some new flavors and maybe it could be our next representative.
